The best wood tiles are characterized by high wood quality (Premium or FAS), maximum durability (resistance class 1), and kiln-dried wood (KD). Sustainable origin, such as FSC® certification, is also important. Tropical woods such as teak, cumaru, garapa, or jatoba meet these criteria and offer durable, robust, and visually attractive tiles for gardens, balconies, or terraces.

Wood tiles made from tropical woods classified as resistance class 1, such as teak or cumaru, have a natural outdoor lifespan of over 25 years. However, the actual durability depends on site conditions: Sunny, well-ventilated locations increase the lifespan, while shady or damp locations can shorten it. A well-drained plastic grid further supports longevity.

The plastic grid of the wooden tiles is made of polypropylene (PP). This plastic is harder and stronger than polyethylene (PE) and ensures that the substructure remains shatter-proof and durable, even when exposed to weathering.
