The installation height determines how high the finished floor will be in the room. It is determined by the plank thickness and the installation level (adhesive or underlay) – plus any necessary leveling.
Here you will find practical guidelines for Teak solid wood parquet and Teak 3-layer parquet, including information for bathrooms and underfloor heating.
Rule of thumb: Installation height = plank thickness + installation level.
For adhesive installation, add approximately 1–2 mm for the adhesive; for floating installation, add approximately 2–3 mm for the underlay. Only if necessary, leveling will further increase the overall height.
Important for door frames, transition profiles and base heights – and for Underfloor Heating (minimal overall thickness and adhesive installation for good heat transfer).
Plank thickness: 14–20 mm (mosaic approx. 10 mm).
Adhesive installation: +1–2 mm → Total approx. 15-22 mm (mosaic ~11-12 mm).
Floating: +2–3 mm → Total approx. 16–23 mm.
Please note: Teak It is very dimensionally stable and resistant to moisture. In bathrooms, glue down the entire surface, seal edges, and ensure good ventilation. For underfloor heating, thinner planks and glued installation are preferable.
Total thickness: 14–15 mm.
Wear layer: 3–4 mm · Counter layer: 2–3 mm (corresponding to the middle layer).
Adhesive installation: +1–2 mm → Total approx. 15–17 mm.
Floating: +2–3 mm → Total approx. 16–18 mm.
Notes: Very dimensionally stable and quick to install. For bathrooms only with careful surface protection and detailed sealing. Underfloor heating: Glue if possible for better heat transfer.
