The Forest Stewardship Council – FSC for short – is the internationally recognized certification system for wood from responsible forestry. The most important goal of the FSC is to ensure that the world’s forests are used in a more environmentally friendly, socially responsible and economically viable way. The FSC, founded in 1993 following the Rio Earth Summit, is a non-governmental, non-profit organization.
“Betterwood relies on personal contacts on site, service quality and transparency”
Now the FSC has written a report on the special concept of Betterwood with the title: “Use to protect – tropical timber from sustainable forestry in Peru” . Here we report on sustainable forestry in Peru, where our Cumaru and Garapa come from. The report also shows what sets us apart from conventional timber traders: “Sustainable tropical timber, as directly and transparently as possible”.
