Origin wood blog

How our wood comes to Europe

Our decking boards , cutting boards , wooden tiles and worktops we import from various countries in Asia and Latin America. We make sure that every piece of wood can be traced back to its origin and that high social and ecological standards are adhered to.

We are now offering our customers a look behind the scenes. In our section Origin you can visit the forests and plantations of the six countries from which we import our wood.

TRANSPARENT, FAIR AND SUSTAINABLE

We show which forest the Cumaru decking boards in Peru come from and how the people in Colombia who produce our teak decking boards live. We also explain what the various certificates mean and how they work for each origin. The path of the wood can be traced on a map: From the forest, via the sawmill to the export port, via the ocean and Rhine shipping to our warehouse. We calculate the Co2 emissions of the transportation and offset these through a reforestation project in Bolivia.
