ZDF film team with Betterwood in Peru

We regularly visit the sawmills and forest areas where our wood comes from. Our Managing Director Catherine Körting is currently on a trip through South America – and this time she is accompanied by a film team commissioned by ZDF.

The broadcaster is working on a report on the new EU regulation for deforestation-free supply chains (EUDR). Using our company as an example, we want to show how deforestation-free tropical timber trading already works today and how we are making a contribution to protecting the rainforest.

The film team accompanies our managing director on her journey to a sustainably managed forest and a certified sawmill in Peru, from which we source our wood. Catherine Körting also visits an indigenous community that benefits from sustainable forest management. The journey of the wood is also shown: from the Peruvian Amazon forest via the port in Lima to our warehouse in Drolshagen.
