ALUMINUM SUBSTRUCTURE FROM BIOMADERAS
The black aluminum substructure from BioMaderas was specially developed for the properties of the BioMaderas decking boards made from tropical wood. The profile resists stresses that can occur with hardwood decking boards. It remains warp-free and practically indestructible. With the connection adapters can be used to connect the construction rails to each other. The rails can be easily shortened using a hacksaw. Please ensure that the boards and substructure are well ventilated and pre-drilled. The swelling and shrinkage of wood can lead to problems when combined with an aluminum substructure if the decking is not well ventilated and the wood and aluminum have not been pre-drilled.

Decking wood with finger-jointing
Finger-jointing is a tried-and-tested timber joint in timber construction that is used to join individual pieces of solid wood together to form a longer decking board. Wedge-shaped prongs at the ends of the pieces of wood interlock and are glued together to make them weatherproof. This can be seen on the surface of the floorboards, but fades into the background with weathering and the formation of patina.
Finger-jointing offers various advantages: The timber is less susceptible to warping and the tree trunk can be used more efficiently, making the product particularly sustainable and generally also cheaper.
