Durable wood from the tropics – such as teak – is a resilient material that is ideal for use as a chopping board in the kitchen. But how can responsible sourcing be monitored and how does sustainable forestry work?
The chopping boards come from a workshop in Vietnam that works according to the high ecological and social standards of the FSC®. The teak comes from sustainably managed forests in which biodiversity is protected, clear-cutting is prohibited and no pesticides are used. In addition, the workers receive fair wages and are covered by health insurance.
