The dimensions of the surface are the most important basis for successful patio planning. We can then support you with material decisions and calculations – with our consulting tools right through to a laying plan with a complete quotation. Find out more beforehand in our FAQ about the quality and properties of wooden decking boards.
You will receive an offer from us. You should check this carefully. If you have any change requests, we will be happy to provide you with further quotations. If everything fits, you can order by e-mail and you will receive an order confirmation and our decking guide. The order confirmation contains a list of materials and some basic information on delivery. The decking guide introduces you to the basics of decking construction.
Wooden decking can vary in size. Small areas can sometimes also be delivered by parcel service. As a rule, however, delivery is carried out by a forwarding agent. The delivery date will be agreed with you in advance. It is important that you are on site for delivery. Your assistance is often required for unloading. You should also check whether the goods are complete.
Building a wooden deck is not rocket science. With a saw, drill and our advice, it can usually be done without any major problems. You or your tradesman should only be well informed in advance about the basic rules, such as sufficient ventilation or the correct spacing of the screws. In our decking guide you will find the most important information. If you are not satisfied with individual boards, please do not install them and contact us. Even after completion, we are of course still there for you if you have any questions about our wood.
For decking, we recommend particularly durable and weather-resistant hardwoods such as teak, cumaru and garapa. These types of wood have a high resistance class (1-2) and are ideal for outdoor use. Teak is particularly dimensionally stable, cumaru is very robust and garapa offers a light, homogeneous appearance.
Planning: Measure the area and select the type of wood. Use our decking planner for a personalized quote.
Prepare the surface: Create a stable and well-drained substrate (e.g. gravel or concrete).
Substructure: Lay a stable base made of wood or aluminum.
Laying the boards: Fasten with stainless screws or concealed clips.
Finish: Treat the decking with oil or wax to protect it from the weather.
Step-by-step instructions
The costs depend on the type of wood:
Cumaru: approx. 70-100 €/m²
Garapa: approx. 65-90 €/m²
Teak: approx. 120-150 €/m²
You should also budget approx. 70 €/m² for the craftsman’s work. Use our decking calculator for an exact calculation.
Cleaning: Clean regularly with water and a brush.
Maintenance oil: Apply once a year to maintain the color.
Protection: Avoid standing water and use front edge wax to prevent cracks.
