Cheap can be expensive

Of course, wooden decking can also be built at significantly lower material costs. Here, woods with a lower durability are usually used. In a long-term calculation, however, installation costs and recurring material procurement must also be factored in. With less durable woods, the decking must be replaced every five to ten years. Highly durable decking has a service life of a good 25 years.

Price for the craftsman

The price that a decking contractor charges for a wooden decking project also depends heavily on the size of the decking and the conditions on site. If the terrace is to be laid on a level and firm surface, this is more favorable than laying it on a slope with earthworks. Large areas are also cheaper per square meter than smaller areas. Therefore, a serious offer can only be made by a craftsman after an inspection. However, you should expect to pay €70 per square meter in any case.
