CONSULTING ” DECKING BOARDS ” straighten

Straighten crooked floorboards

Wooden decking boards are not always one hundred percent straight. This is generally not a problem in decking construction: slight curvatures can be compensated for by pressing the plank closer together when screwing. Curvatures are often tolerable and cannot be ruled out. If the curvature is more than one cm per running meter, please contact us. With the following tips, even warped floorboards can be installed cleanly.

Press the planks down

Press the crooked decking boards straight against the spacers and fix them from start to finish. The planks are best pressed down and screwed together in pairs: one person presses the plank straight down, the other person screws the plank into the substructure.

Pull straight with tension belts

Tensioning straps make it easier to press the decking boards against the spacers. Fasten the plank at one end to a few screw points and pull the other end towards you using the tension straps before screwing the plank down. To do this, clamp around one to three of the already screwed planks to pull the still loose plank towards the spacers using the tensioning straps.

Using plank clamps

Plank clamps work according to the principle of screw clamps: By screwing the clamps placed in the joint together, the loose plank is pulled straight up against the spacer. Now the plank can be screwed together with an even joint. The plank tensioner is released and can be used for the next plank. Plank clamps enable a very comfortable way of working.
