Finger-jointed substructure

At Betterwood you will also find finger-jointed substructures. This construction method is particularly warp-resistant and stable – two important criteria for a high-quality substructure.

What does “finger-jointed” mean?

Finger-jointed means that individual pieces of wood are glued together with wedges to form an extremely durable joint. The glue is a weatherproof construction glue – specially approved for load-bearing structures in outdoor areas. Finger-jointed timber is also used for large roof constructions when long distances need to be bridged. The results of load tests also speak for the very good durability: the wood breaks first – only then does the finger-jointing come loose.
