For the teak used in our garden furniture, worn-out agricultural areas in the tropical regions of Brazil are reforested with FSC® 100% certified teak plantations. The plantations have created a sustainable and economic opportunity for local people to make a living from forestry in areas of rainforest that were initially thought to be lost. Reforestation also ensures, among other things, that the surrounding primary forest does not dwindle any further.
The sawmills that process the logs from Brazil are located in Vietnam. The company can look back on decades of experience in wood processing. Modern machines combined with the many years of expertise of the local wood processing companies enable almost 100% utilization of the valuable teak trunks. The result: maximum utilization of resources in the manufacture of durable premium teak products.
In general, we import almost exclusively FSC® certified products. We also only source wood products from Vietnam that are FSC®® 100% certified. This guarantees that the teak is sourced from responsible and sustainable forestry and sends a strong signal against illegal deforestation.
Our garden furniture is processed in the provincial town of Binh Duong in the south of Vietnam. Originally dominated by agriculture, Binh Duong developed into an economic center of the country. The region is still famous for its handicraft villages – in addition to wood products, ceramics and pottery, sculptures and paintings are also produced.
Our local partner companies have years of experience in the production of high-quality teak garden furniture. Hardly anywhere else in the world can the round stems of teak be utilized so well. For example, even the bark from the logs is used to make the drying chambers more energy-efficient.
