Parquet cleaner

The right parquet cleaner protects the surface and preserves the natural look. The focus is on pH-neutral wood cleaners for oiled parquet and sealed parquet, damp wiping with a microfiber mop, and dosed mopping care without residue.

Which cleaner for parquet?

For regular maintenance cleaning, a pH-neutral parquet cleaner with low residue formation is suitable. It removes dust and everyday dirt without clogging the pores or leaching out the surface. Aggressive all-purpose cleaners, vinegar, chlorine, ammonia, steam devices or strongly re-greasing household remedies are unsuitable.

  • Oiled parquet: wood care cleaner or wood soap wood soapApply with a damp cloth and refresh with care oil if necessary.
  • Sealed parquet: pH-neutral mopping care, no additives containing wax to avoid streaks.
  • Dose according to the manufacturer’s instructions; too much concentrate leaves a film and reduces shine.

Cleaning oiled vs. sealed parquet

Oiled and waxed floors remain porous, so clean with wood soap or oil-based wiping care, then allow to dry thoroughly. Hard-wearing areas can be re-oiled selectively. For lacquered parquet, pH-neutral wiping care is sufficient; do not use oil or wax-based products so that the lacquer layer does not become streaky.

Basic cleaning only if necessary: oiled surfaces with intensive cleaner and subsequent care, sealed surfaces with basic lacquer cleaner. If unsure, test on an inconspicuous area first.

Dosage, application and avoiding mistakes

Remove dust dry beforehand. Mix cleaner with warm water according to instructions, wipe damp and avoid puddles. Wash out cloths regularly, change bucket water. Do not use microfiber with abrasive effect. Chair glides and dirt-trapping mats protect highly frequented zones.

  • Streaks and smears indicate overdosing – wipe with clear water.
  • Remove stains such as grease, rubber abrasion, heel marks selectively with a suitable cleaner.
  • Damp wiping is sufficient for hygienic refreshing in everyday life; disinfectant cleaners are unnecessary.

Care plan and stain treatment

Daily to weekly dry cleaning, weekly wiping care, monthly refreshing if necessary. Remove heavy stains immediately to prevent them from penetrating the wood. For oiled parquet, re-oil locally or room by room after basic cleaning. For lacquered surfaces, use cleaning agents that are compatible with lacquer.
