Installation height parquet

The installation height determines how high the finished floor will be in the room. It is made up of the plank thickness and the installation level (adhesive or carpet pad) – plus any necessary filling.

Here you will find practical guide values for teak solid wood parquet and teak 3-layer parquetincl. Notes for bathrooms and underfloor heating.

What counts as installation height?

Rule of thumb: Installation height = plank thickness + installation level.

For adhesive installation, add approx. +1-2 mm for the adhesive; for floating installation, add approx. +2-3 mm for the carpet pad. Only if necessary, a filler will additionally increase the overall height.

Important for door frames, transition profiles and plinth heights – and for underfloor heating (minimum overall thickness and adhesive installation for good heat transfer).

Teak 3-layer parquet: structure & heights

Total thickness: 14-15 mm.
Wear layer: 3-4 mm – Backing: 2-3 mm (corresponding to middle layer).
Adhesive installation: +1-2 mm → Total approx. 15-17 mm.
Floating: +2-3 mm → Total approx. 16-18 mm.

Notes: Very dimensionally stable and quick to install. For bathrooms only with careful surface protection and detailed sealing. For underfloor heating: Glue if possible for better heat transfer.
