Laying wooden tiles

Wood tiles with a click system can be laid quickly and easily. Find out here what you need to look out for when laying, how the wooden tiles can be divided and how to best care for and clean them.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

Betterwood wood tiles are simply laid on a firm, level surface using an integrated plug-in system, for which no tools are required. They can be laid parallel or in a more stable checkerboard pattern and, if required, the tiles can be cut to size using a hand-held circular saw. A distance of 10-15 mm from solid structures should be maintained so that the tiles can swell and shrink when the weather changes.

Wood tiles are best cut with a circular saw or hand-held circular saw; foxtail saws or jigsaws are also possible, but more time-consuming. Before cutting, the tile should be marked, screws removed and, in the case of electric saws, fixed with a screw clamp. After cutting, the cut edges should be sanded and the wooden slats screwed down from below if necessary.

Wood tiles can be maintained with special care and cleaning products from Betterwood. To protect the color and UV protection, we recommend BioMaderas decking oil, which is applied thinly once a year. BioMaderas decking cleaner is suitable for cleaning older tiles, which is sprayed on, left to work briefly, scrubbed with a brush and then rinsed off.
