Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

Wooden boards can be used in a variety of ways, for example in furniture construction, as desk, dining or kitchen table tops and as kitchen worktops. Particularly resistant woods such as teak are also suitable for wet areas, outdoor areas or even shipbuilding. With the right cuts and panel thicknesses, individual pieces of furniture and washstands can also be produced.

The optimum height of a kitchen worktop depends on your height or elbow height. As a rough guide: if you are 170 cm tall, the ideal working height is around 95 cm. Alternatively, measure your elbow height and subtract 10-15 cm to obtain your personal, ergonomic worktop.

Yes, wooden boards can be used outdoors, but they should be very durable and dimensionally stable – teak is particularly suitable here. They must be mounted correctly (e.g. on cross struts or frames) and regularly protected from standing water. Treatment with oil or boat varnish delays signs of ageing such as cracks or graying, but cannot prevent them completely.

Depending on their size and weight, Betterwood sends wooden panels by parcel service (DPD) or forwarding agent, or on pallets for very heavy panels. The boards are carefully protected with honeycomb cardboard, corner protectors and sturdy corrugated cardboard. The shipping costs depend on the weight and are displayed in the shopping cart.
