Care products for wood outdoors
Terrace elements turn gray over time. This is technically unproblematic but sometimes undesirable from a visual point of view. In a particularly damp and shady environment, algae and fungi can also colonize the surface. To counteract graying and to protect against algae and fungi, Betterwood offers various wood care and cleaning products.
The manufacturer BioMaderas has developed care products for teak decking elements that have achieved the best results over the long term. To choose the best product and use it correctly, the desired goal should be defined in advance:

Application of the care products
BioMaderas decking oil with UV protection: In addition to an oil that penetrates deep into the wood and protects the decking element, this decking oil has added UV protection that strengthens the wood color and preserves it for longer. In addition, a fine, water-repellent layer is formed, which counteracts the washing out of the natural color pigments of the wood. It should be applied thinly with a lint-free cotton cloth immediately after laying the teak elements, without leaving large areas of standing oil. You will achieve the best effect if you repeat the treatment once a year on your dry and clean wooden decking.
BioMaderas decking protection: This wood preservative has been specially developed for the requirements of wooden decking. It effectively counteracts the formation of algae and fungi and leaves the wood in its natural state. It should be applied to the wooden surface with a large brush or paint roller immediately after laying the decking elements. The decking protection is also suitable for use after fungal and algae infestation. The affected area should first be sanded and cleaned before the product is applied. For best results, repeat the treatment every one to two years on your dry and clean teak decking.
BioMaderas decking cleaner: The decking cleaner effectively removes dirt and black stains from teak elements. It is applied to the swept surface with a watering can or a spray bottle. After 10 to 15 minutes of exposure, scrub the decking elements with a root brush and rinse with a garden hose and clean water. This application should be repeated if necessary. The cleaning effect usually lasts for two years.
