Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

Stains on Garapa decking boards are best removed with warm water and a soft brush. Special wood cleaners for hardwood can be used for heavier stains. Aggressive chemicals or high-pressure cleaners should be avoided as they can damage the surface. Regular cleaning protects the floorboards and preserves their natural color.

Both Cumaru and Garapa decking boards are high-quality hardwoods, but differ in color and properties. Garapa has a lighter, golden-yellow to honey-colored tone, while Cumaru has a more reddish-brown appearance. Cumaru is slightly higher in terms of hardness and density, but Garapa offers a more even structure and a light, friendly appearance. Both woods are extremely durable and weather-resistant.

To preserve the natural color of Garapa decking boards in the long term, regular treatment with pigmented decking oil for hardwood is recommended. This protects the wood from UV rays and delays the formation of a silver-grey patina. In addition, regular cleaning with water and a brush extends the life of the boards considerably.

Garapa decking boards have very good natural durability and are generally assigned to resistance class 1-2. This means that they are extremely resistant to the effects of weather, fungal attack and insects. With the right care, Garapa decking boards can last for several decades and remain stable and visually appealing.
