The sustainable origin

Our Cumaru decking boards and Cumaru substructure come from FSC®®-certified forests in the Madre Dios region of Peru. Through our Latin American subsidiary, we personally monitor the quality and independent experts check that no pesticides are used, that biodiversity is preserved and that only as much wood is harvested as will grow back in the same period. We also check whether the loggers and employees at the sawmill in Lima receive fair wages. Transportation from Latin America to our warehouse in Nümbrecht is climate-neutral.

The hardest type of wood

Cumaru is one of the most durable woods in the world. It is used in South America to build bridges and to construct jetties in the water. It is therefore also extremely suitable as a stable and durable substructure for wooden decking. Cumaru is classified in resistance class 1 according to the DIN standard and thus achieves a minimum service life of 25 years outdoors. Its durability, resistance and load-bearing capacity mean that Cumaru can be used to create particularly long-lasting wooden decking.

Comprehensive advice

We would be happy to advise you on the construction of your wooden decking with a Cumaru substructure. We will create a installation plan and quotation for your wooden decking. You can also use our decking calculator to determine your requirements yourself in advance. A decking board should be screwed to a substructure every 45-50 cm so that the boards do not warp due to temperature fluctuations. We will be happy to advise you on how to achieve the desired installation height with cross battens – a substructure installed one on top of the other – or adjustable pedestals.
