Origin of our wood

It is a long way from the seedling in the tropics to the wooden terrace, table top or chopping boards in your home. What principles are applied in the forests? How is further processing and transportation carried out? At this point we would like to document the story behind our tropical wood.

Bolivia

Our Garapa wood and our Cumaru substructure come from certified forestry in the Andes.

Brazil

This is where our hardwood substructure comes from. The political situation led us to temporarily stop imports.

Indonesia

The trees for our teak decking planks grow in the ancient teak forests on the Indonesian island of Java.

Peru

This is where the trees for our Cumaru decking boards come from. A TV report shows how forestry works.

Vietnam

Our chopping boards, table tops and garden furniture come from Vietnam.

TV report about Betterwood and our forest in Peru

A television team from the Pro Sieben program “Galileo” visited us in our camp near Cologne and in one of our forests in Peru. The result is a report about our company and our special type of forest management.

ZDF report about Betterwood

The ZDF documentary series Plan B has set itself the goal of telling stories of success and presenting ideas for solutions to social problems. The report on Betterwood shows that forestry can contribute to the preservation of tropical forests. ZDF writes in a press release: “Catherine Körting (…) found a way to contribute to the preservation of the rainforest by selling tropical timber.”
