The right wood care for kitchen worktops

Kitchen worktops are exposed to particular stresses: cutting, cooking, frying. They have to withstand water, grease and scratches. Teak is naturally resistant – and with the right wood care, the worktop will remain beautiful for decades.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

Solid wood, especially teak and rubberwood, offers the best combination of natural beauty, durability and sustainability. Unlike plastic or stone, a kitchen worktop made from sustainable wood radiates warmth and is robust against moisture and scratches. While teak offers the highest durability as a premium option, rubberwood is an affordable yet high-quality alternative.

Teak kitchen worktops are particularly easy to care for as they are naturally water-repellent. Regular oiling protects the surface and makes it resistant to stains. Unlike other materials, minor damage can simply be sanded off and re-oiled.

Tropical teak worktops are among the most robust materials. They are naturally very dense and resistant to scratches, knocks and moisture – ideal for everyday use in busy kitchens. Rubberwood also offers a surprisingly high level of robustness at an excellent price-performance ratio.

We recommend a thickness of 30mm to 40mm for kitchen worktops. This thickness ensures maximum stability, load-bearing capacity and an impressive appearance. Our 30mm and 40mm thick solid wood kitchen worktops are particularly robust and are ideal for worktops that are subject to heavy daily use.

The cost of a high-quality solid wood kitchen worktop is typically between 150 and 400 euros per square meter, depending on the type of wood, thickness and individual customization. Our sustainable kitchen worktops are an investment in quality and durability that pays off in the long term thanks to their robustness, repairability and FSC certification.

Your custom-made kitchen worktop made from sustainable solid wood is carefully packaged and conveniently delivered directly to your home. Large boards are delivered on a pallet. Smaller cuts are packed in cardboard and delivered as a parcel.
