Modulus of Rupture

Modulus of Rupture (MOR) is an index of flexural strength. The flexural strength is defined by how a test specimen (rectangular) with defined dimensions behaves in a 3-point bending test until fracture at maximum stress. Maximum stress is listed in units of N/mm2 or MPa. This test of flexibility or bending is often also called a transverse test, a breaking strength test, a 3-point or 4-point bending test.
