Sustainability

The concept of sustainability describes the use of a regenerative system in such a way that this system retains its essential properties and its existence can be regenerated naturally. The term originally comes from the forestry industry. Sustainable management means looking after forest areas and using them in such a way and to such an extent that they retain their biodiversity, productivity, regeneration capacity and vitality. The aim is to preserve their ability to fulfill important ecological, economic and social functions at local, national and global level now and in the future. In addition, the sustainable management of a forest area must not harm other ecosystems.
