wood moisture meter

A wood moisture meter is used to determine the wood moisture content of beams, veneers, decking boards or forest wood. There are devices on the market that work with three different methods. When measuring with sensors, there is no need to intervene in the material. When taking a kiln sample, one millimeter wide holes are drilled into the wood to measure the moisture. When measuring with electrodes, two needles are inserted into the wood and the electrical conductivity and thus the moisture content of the wood is determined.
