FSC save forest

Protect through use: The main cause of the destruction of the rainforest is its replacement by agriculture. By purchasing FSC-certified wood, people in the tropics can live off sustainable forestry. The forest becomes their livelihood and therefore worth protecting. Wood with the FSC 100% seal is regularly subjected to independent controls and comes from forests that are preserved in the long term precisely because of their management. Wood without an FSC certificate can be legal, but always comes from clear-cutting.

The SVLK certificate is issued by the Indonesian wood security program and meets the criteria of sustainable and social forestry through the additional PHPL standard.

BioMaderas represents a new approach to timber trading: sustainable, fair and transparent. The timber comes from responsible forestry and the products are developed in partnership with the forest users. Great care in processing results in an exceptional quality standard. Our offer includes high-quality wood, obtained from the sustainably managed forests of the Santa Cruz region in Bolivia, certified with the FSC® 100% seal. Our teak from Java, processed in Jombang, contributes significantly to these efforts. Thanks to Java's ideal climatic conditions, our teak is characterized by slower growth, high density and oil content, making it sought after worldwide. It is exported to Europe from Surabaya, Indonesia's second largest city with the main port of Tanjung Perak.

Our wood from the Peruvian Madre de Dios region comes from certified, sustainably managed primary forest. The logistics to Lima represent a particular challenge due to steep Andean passes and the heavy rainfall caused by El Niño. Our commitment to care and sustainability is manifested in the strict inspection by independent non-governmental organizations before the wood is transported to Lima for further processing becomes. High-quality wooden tiles and decking are produced there, manufactured in the economic heart of Peru.
