Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

The most durable decking boards are made from tropical hardwoods. Teak, cumaru, garapa, and jatoba, in particular, impress with their high resistance to weather, moisture, and pests. With proper care, these decking boards can last for several decades while offering an elegant appearance.

For high-quality decking, teak, cumaru, garapa, and jatoba are the best choices. These wood species are characterized by their exceptional hardness, stability, and natural durability. They are perfect for creating a long-lasting deck with exclusive character.

Green growth on decking boards is best removed with water and a stiff brush. For heavier deposits, special wood cleaners can be used that gently clean the surface of teak, cumaru, garapa, and jatoba. Avoid using a pressure washer to avoid damaging the wood surface.

Decking made of teak, cumaru, garapa, and jatoba is among the most durable types available. With proper care, it can last for 25 to 40 years. Regular cleaning and treatment with suitable maintenance oils not only maintains longevity but also preserves the natural color of the wood.

A stable substructure, usually made of the same hardwoods or aluminum, is required beneath decking made of teak, cumaru, garapa, or jatoba. It is also recommended to place weed control fabric under the structure and ensure adequate drainage to prevent water from accumulating. This ensures the deck remains permanently stable and durable.

Teak terraces

“Even after many years, our teak floorboards are still very straight. We really like the silver color that the planks have taken on. It is a wonderful feeling to walk barefoot on the terrace. We don't have to be afraid of splinters. I can only recommend this blade.”
